In the on-the-job writing, the top mistake is clearly forgetting that people don’t read what we wrote them, they scan it.  Therefore, we must use:

• Shorter sentences.
• Shorter opening paragraphs.
• More lists (to present series).
• More subheadings (to announce topics).
